07/07/2004 Archived Entry: "Please Keep Your Account in Good Standing"

Here at MIS, we try to be good neighbors and friends. If you're account is one month past due, we don't really "come after" you for it. Even when it's two months overdue. But once it's two and a half months overdue, we take some action. Before we lock your account, we send a gentle reminder to your MIS email address to let you know you're over two months past due. We usually give you about a week after that to get your payment in without any ramifications. After that date, though, we lock your account until payment is made.

In the past, email sent to a locked account would accumulate in your inbox. So if you were locked for a week, then made a payment and had your account unlocked, your email from the previous week would still be there. Most times...

Somtimes, though, the server's hard drives would be full. So JP would cull old mail from locked accounts to free up needed space. You risked the chance of loosing email if you account was locked. Now, a new process automatically strips email from the server for locked accounts. If your account is locked, email will be deleted from your mailbox every evening.

If you keep your account in good standing, there's no problem. So the moral of the story is...

"Please Pay Your Bill."

Thanks.
