02/17/2004 Archived Entry: "Midcoast Announces Scholarship"

Midcoast Internet Solutions released information today regarding their 2004 Midcoast Internet Solutions Foundation scholarship. The foundation is planning to award at least two $1,000 scholarships to a high school senior who intends to further their education in a computer-related field.

"This is the 5th year of the MIS scholarship," said company spokesperson Bill Batty, Jr. "We've had winners from Boothbay High, Morse, Lincoln Academy, and two winners from Rockland. So far, all the students have majored in Computer Science, but any computer related major is acceptable, including Electrical Engineering, CAD/CAM design, etc."

15 high school guidance councilors from the mid-coast region from Belfast to Brunswick were mailed the application this week. Students should ask their councilor for more information. The deadline for the application is May 15.
