Rockland Office Closed Tomorrow

The Rockland office will be closed to foot traffic this weekend. Our phones will still be answered, and email will still be monitored, but the doors in Rockland will be locked. If you need to physically talk to an MIS employee on Saturday, Jim will be working at Rockbound Computers, Rt 1, right on the Rockland/Thomaston line. The Nobleboro office WILL be open, so you could stop in there too if needed.

Jason Philbrook Announces Purchase of Rockbound Computers

Jason Philbrook, owner and president of Midcoast Internet Solutions, announced today that he has acquired local computer sales and service shop Rockbound Computers. Carolyn Philbrook, former owner of Rockbound Computers, will stay as the company's general manager.

Rockbound Computers started in 1991 as a desktop publishing company, but shortly thereafter changed focus, and began working with midcoast Maine residents on computer sales and repair. The newly purchased company will still retain that focus, but has added new products and services that should appeal to more consumers. Rockbound has added a second location, and will be sharing office space with Midcoast Internet Solutions at 134B Back Meadow Rd. in Nobleboro. Rockbound's hours have also increased, and the Rockland location will be open 8 am - 6 pm weekdays, and 9 am-noon on Saturdays. Rockbound has also added new service options, including off site back-up solutions, remote support, and new low power using “green” computers.

“Most people will only notice a slight change” said new owner Jason Philbrook. “The staff at Rockbound will be the same; the main location is the same. The new hours should give customers more flexibility, and I intend on growing Rockbound's retail inventory with a larger selection.” Rockbound manager Carolyn Philbrook continued “Rockbound and Midcoast will remain separate companies, but we'll be helping each other more in 2011. The goal is to help take care of customers in more ways, with more speed and skill.”

Rockland Office Closed This Saturday

Due to scheduling irregularities, the Rockland office will be closed to foot traffic this weekend. Our phones will still be answered, and email will still be monitored, but the doors in Rockland will be locked. If you need to physically talk to an MIS employee on Saturday, Jim will be working at Rockbound Computers, Rt 1, right on the Rockland/Thomaston line.
